Abstract

New horizons have been opened in the treatment of cancer, of which its prevalence has been increasing day by day, with methods developed in recent years. Particularly immunotherapy, which means “stimulating the immune system of the host to manipulate it against cancer”, is expected to rank among the first-line treatments in the future by displaying superior efficiency than chemotherapy with lesser side effects. However, the adverse effects of these treatments have not been thoroughly defined yet. In this review, we discussed hair repigmentation appearing as an unexpected effect of anti- programmed death receptor 1 and anti-programmed death ligand 1 agents used particularly in the treatment of lung cancer.
